Notes: Build job-ready medication administration skills with our online, self-paced CMT 60h our course plus a focused 8-hour clinical at a designated partner site. You’ll learn safe dosing, documentation, and resident communication—with friendly instructor support every step of the way.

Program Snapshot

Format: Self-paced online theory (60 hours) + in-person clinical (8 hours)

Clinical Requirement: Mandatory 8-hour clinical at a designated clinical site (scheduled and coordinated for you)

Instruction/Sponsorship: Instruction is delivered under the sponsorship of an approved CMT instructor/program; Green Creek Education hosts the online learning platform and coordinates the clinical component.

Support: Direct instructor support via email/phone/portal for tutoring, Q&A, and check-ins

Total Hours: 68 hours

How It Works

Online Theory — 60 Hours (Self-Paced)
Progress through clear modules, videos, and knowledge checks covering medication classes, dosage-calculation basics, infection control, the rights of medication administration, documentation, and professionalism.

Clinical — 8 Hours (Mandatory)
Complete a supervised clinical day at a designated clinical site to demonstrate safe practice in real settings: med-pass workflow, MAR/TAR documentation, infection-control/PPE, communication, and error-prevention steps.

Important: The 8-hour clinical is required to complete the course. Students must attend the full clinical and meet competencies to pass.

Typical Requirements

Clinical partners may require a background check, must be a CNA x 6 months, Administrator/ DON recommendation letter, ect...Additional prerequisites may apply based on site policy—Admissions will guide you through anything needed.

CMT- Certified Medication Technician is a CNA who has been certified in the state of missouri for greater than 6 months. This program is designed to to teach skills in administration of nonparenteral medicationsthatwill qualify students to perform this procedure to assist PN or RN in medication therapy.

This course does include your insulin certification. This course also includes your 8 hours of CMT/Insulin skills in an approved Skilled Nursing Facility. The clinials will be scheduled at the completion of this course.
