Ready to take the next step beyond CNA? The Certified Medication Technician (CMT) program at Green Creek Education is designed for experienced CNAs who are ready to expand their skills, increase their responsibility, and move forward in their healthcare career.

As a CMT, you will be trained to safely administer non-parenteral medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse, making you a valuable part of the clinical care team in long-term care and other approved healthcare settings across Missouri.

Who Is Eligible

To enroll in the CMT program, you must:

• Be a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in Missouri
• Have at least 6 months of CNA work experience
• Provide a letter of recommendation from a nurse or supervisor
• Pass a background check prior to clinical placement

These requirements are set by Missouri regulations to ensure patient safety and professional readiness.

How the Program Works

The classroom portion of the program is completed online using the Green Creek Student App, which gives you everything you need in one place:

✔ Instructor messaging & support
✔ Progress tracking

After you complete the online coursework, you will attend 8 hours of hands-on CMT clinical training at an approved Skilled Nursing Facility. Clinical dates are scheduled once your coursework and compliance items are complete.

This program focuses on non-parenteral medication administration only and does not include insulin administration.

Certified Medication Technician (CMT) – Online Program

The Certified Medication Technician (CMT) program is designed for experienced CNAs who are ready to move forward in their healthcare careers. As a CMT, you will be trained to safely administer medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse — opening the door to more responsibility, better shifts, and stronger earning potential.

  • To be eligible, you must:
    • Be a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)
    • Have at least 6 months of CNA work experience
    • Provide a letter of recommendation from a nurse or supervisor
  • Pass the background check

This program focuses on the safe administration of non-parenteral medications and prepares you to assist RNs and LPNs with medication therapy in long-term care and other approved healthcare settings across Missouri.

Your clinical day will be scheduled once you successfully complete the online portion of the course.

 

Enrollment Requirements

To begin enrollment and reserve your seat, a $250 enrollment deposit is required.
This deposit is applied toward your total tuition and activates your student profile in our system and app.

You will also need to submit your letter of recommendation and complete a background check prior to clinical placement.
